March 31st

Good Morning All,

Just a little update - there's not much to say.  Staff are continuing to keep the school open for those pupils whose parents are key workers.  Numbers have fluctuated between 11 and 4.

We hope that you are all keeping well and sane as we commence the second week of isolation.  Please check links on the school website for ideas for pupil learning - we will endeavour to keep this updated.

Miss Wallace

Dear Parents/Carers

We would like to thank parents and carers for their patience and understanding during the last couple of turbulent days.  For those who will not be in school until the government tell us it’s safe to do so, please stay safe and well.  School staff are at the end of an email or telephone if you need us.

For those parents we have already spoken to and agreed that their children will be in school due to them being identified as Key Workers:

  • School will be open between 8:45am and 3:20pm.
  • There will be no Breakfast Club or after school clubs
  • If they normally travel on the school bus – then at least for the first Monday, we understand that normal arrangements apply.
  • This is not education as we know it – the advice to schools is that we are providing ‘childcare’ – so although we will endeavour to make attendance as normal and interesting as possible – it will be quite different to their current experience.  There is a school staff rota in place so your children will be with different members of staff each day.
  • Entry/Exit through the main front door please.
  • Their temperature will be tested as they arrive and if found to be over 37.5oc then they will not be admitted.
  • Each day  you will also be asked to give an emergency contact number and for any medicine/medical information
  • They will need :
    • o To come in school uniform and a coat
    • o PE Kit every day
    • o Work packs/ Reading books
    • o Drinks/ Snacks (there will be no milk or fruit delivered to school)
    • o Waterproofs and wellies (for forest school) on Wednesdays only.
    • o Lunch if not previously ordered.   The butchers have asked us to mention that they may not be able to stick to previously agreed menu.  They will keep it as similar as possible but shortages of various items will make this difficult.

This is new to all of us and will likely change in the coming weeks.  We will do our best to keep this as stress free as possible to everyone concerned but please bear with us.

Friday 20th March

Dear Parents/Carers

There has been an extended list published on who is considered ‘A Key Worker’, please click on this link:  https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision?fbclid=IwAR2GTZ7lMEl-3GA-5YpoB236dWOntg4AFsbjVjanLo_mD_oJ2iiouo8yOWk

If you feel you fall into one of these categories and wish your child/children to be at school please contact us.  We will need to know which days you would like covered for the next 4 weeks, whether you will need Breakfast Club (there is no provision for after school club) and whether a hot lunch is already booked.

It is important to let us know so that we can gauge staffing ratios.
