Welcome to our website!
Welcome to Class Severn home to our fantastic Year 5 and 6 pupils at Ewyas Harold Primary. We are a mixed – age class full of curious minds, kind hearts and enthusiastic learners. Our Class is taught by Miss Bolton with the brilliant support of Mrs Chesworth. Mrs Generalovic provides PPA cover on Friday afternoons.
As the oldest children in the school, Class Severn are expected to lead by example. This means showing responsibility, maturity and kindness in everything we do- both in and out of the classroom. Whether it be supporting younger pupils, representing our school with pride, or striving to be the best we can be in our learning. We understand the importance of being role models. Class Severn pupils have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities around the school with a range of jobs, to help with the daily running of our classroom and school!
In Class Severn we work hard, support each other, and aim high! We continue to nurture and nourish the seeds that have been sown through the earlier primary years, whilst promoting more independence in preparation for secondary school. Our learning is exciting, creative and ambitious- covering a broad and balanced curriculum.
The children are encouraged to reflect our school rules; Be Ready, Be Respectful, Be Safe.

At Ewyas Harold, we believe that strong spelling skills are a vital part of becoming a confident writer and communicator. In Class Severn, we follow the Twinkl Spelling Scheme, which introduces key spelling rules, patterns, common exception words and strategies in a structured and progressive way. At the start of each half term, children are given a copy of the half- termly spelling grid outlining the spellings they will be learning each week. This allows you as a family to plan ahead and support regular practice at home. Our weekly spelling test takes place every Tuesday morning, giving children the chance to apply what they’ve learned and track their progress. Regular practice not only builds accuracy and confidence but also supports learning across all subjects. Thank you for encouraging your child to practise their spellings each week!
