At Ewyas Harold Primary, we are committed to promoting the health and wellbeing of every child as a vital part of their education. We are currently working closely with the Local Authority to achieve Healthy Schools Status through the Herefordshire Healthy Schools Programme, which supports schools in developing a whole-school approach to wellbeing.
This programme focuses on four key areas:
- Emotional health and wellbeing
- Physical activity
- Healthy eating, drinking and oral health
- Personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education
By developing our practice across these areas, we aim not only to support children in leading healthier lifestyles, but also to ensure they feel happy, safe, and ready to learn. Working towards Healthy Schools Status enables us to review, strengthen, and celebrate the positive work already taking place across the school community.
We recognise that promoting healthy lifestyles is most effective when school and home work together. Parents and carers play a vital role in reinforcing healthy habits, whether that be encouraging active lifestyles, supporting balanced diets, promoting good routines, or nurturing emotional wellbeing.
We would like to thank families for their continued support and encourage you to keep working with us as we move towards achieving this important recognition. Together, we can ensure that all our children develop the knowledge, skills, and habits they need to lead healthy, happy lives.
