Values Based School

At our school, we are proud to be a Values-Based Education community, where learning is shaped not only by academic achievement but also by the development of strong character and positive relationships. We believe that education should nurture the whole child, enabling every pupil to flourish as a confident, caring, and responsible individual.

Our core values are at the heart of everything we do and were agreed following consultation with staff, pupils and the wider school community. They guide our teaching, shape our culture, and help us to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every member of our community feels valued and respected. We actively promote honesty, kindness, compassion, and trust, encouraging our pupils to build meaningful relationships and act with integrity in all that they do.

We celebrate creativity, ambition, and resilience, inspiring children to embrace challenges, think independently, and strive for their very best. Through a strong sense of responsibility and community, we help pupils understand their role in contributing positively to the world around them. We are also deeply committed to inclusivity and equality, ensuring that everyone is welcomed, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed. Above all, we aim to foster a culture of happiness, where children feel safe, inspired, and excited to learn each day.

Each of our values is explored in depth over a half-term, across a two-year cycle, allowing pupils to develop a rich and lasting understanding of what these values mean in practice. A combination of carefully planned class-based learning and whole-school assemblies helps children reflect on and apply these values in their daily lives. We celebrate and recognise pupils who demonstrate these qualities through weekly reward certificates, reinforcing the importance of living our values every day.

By embedding these principles into all aspects of school life, we equip our pupils with the attitudes, skills, and moral foundation they need to thrive both now and in the future.
